Chelsea’s aggressive summer rebuild may not be over yet. Despite splashing £173 million on attacking talent, the Blues are now targeting Aston Villa’s Morgan Rogers—though a deal depends on moving Nicolas Jackson out.
Manager Enzo Maresca is keen to strengthen his forward line further after lifting the Club World Cup with an emphatic 3-0 win over PSG. The club has already landed Joao Pedro, Jamie Gittens, Liam Delap, and Estevao Willian, but the hunt for goals hasn’t stopped.
Rogers Emerges as Latest Target
According to The Telegraph’s Matt Law, Chelsea are now looking to lure Rogers from Villa Park just six months after he arrived from Middlesbrough for £15m. Following a breakout season where he bagged 14 goals and 15 assists, the 21-year-old won’t come cheap. With five years left on his contract, Villa hold all the cards—but Chelsea remain interested.
Jackson Exit Key to Deal
To fund a potential move, Chelsea are hoping to offload Jackson—possibly to Villa in a player-plus-cash deal. The Senegal striker, signed from Villarreal for £32m, has delivered a decent return with 30 goals in two seasons. But recent form—just four goals since January and two red cards in his last five matches—has raised doubts about his long-term fit.
Mail Sport previously reported that Chelsea quoted AC Milan a staggering £100m asking price for Jackson, though it remains to be seen if any club will meet that figure.
Rogers Fits the Mold
Rogers brings more than just stats. He’s already familiar with several members of the Chelsea squad, having come through Manchester City’s youth system alongside Cole Palmer, Delap, and Gittens. He also brings Champions League experience—something that could prove valuable in Maresca’s youthful setup.
Chelsea’s New-Look Attack Taking Shape
Joao Pedro has hit the ground running, scoring in both the Club World Cup semi-final and final. Estevao turned heads with a dazzling quarter-final display—ironically against Chelsea—before joining them this summer. Gittens adds flair from his time at Dortmund, and Delap arrives with a solid reputation from Ipswich.
Cole Palmer, meanwhile, looks fully revitalized after his two-goal showing in the final against PSG.
Chelsea’s attacking revamp is already producing results, but if Maresca gets his way, Morgan Rogers could be the next name through the door—assuming they can clear room first.
