BetMGM will remain Newcastle United’s official UK and European betting partner, keeping the brand firmly in view at St James’ Park while promising more fan promotions and matchday activations.
BetMGM Stays on the St James’ Park Sidelines
LeoVegas Group has extended BetMGM’s partnership with Newcastle United as the operator continues to build its profile in the UK sports betting market.
The renewed agreement means BetMGM branding will remain visible around St James’ Park, including on LED advertising boards and media walls.
The operator also plans further fan-focused campaigns following activations such as its Half-Time Challenge, which has formed part of the partnership during the previous three seasons.
Andy Wright, LeoVegas Group Managing Director for the UK and Ireland, said Newcastle United’s ambitions align closely with BetMGM’s own growth plans. He added that supporters had responded well to the brand and that the operator intends to bring more of its Las Vegas-inspired marketing to the club.
Newcastle Fans Could Be Heading to Vegas
The renewal is about more than pitchside advertising.
BetMGM plans to use its Las Vegas connections as part of upcoming promotions, including an opportunity for Newcastle supporters to win a trip to the city.
For ordinary bettors, that is likely to be the most visible part of the deal. Sponsorship extensions rarely change the nuts and bolts of a sportsbook, but they can bring new competitions, giveaways and matchday offers aimed directly at football fans.
Newcastle United Chief Revenue Officer Dave O’Connor said the partnership had produced memorable experiences and viral moments during its first three seasons.
The club also sees the renewal as part of its wider push to grow its commercial portfolio and work with major international brands.
Betting Brands Rethink Premier League Exposure
The extension arrives as gambling sponsorship in English football enters a different era.
Premier League clubs are set to stop carrying gambling operators on the front of shirts from the 2026/27 season, forcing bookmakers to find other ways to maintain their visibility around clubs and stadiums.
That makes assets such as perimeter advertising, digital campaigns, hospitality, fan competitions and other commercial partnerships increasingly valuable.
For operators with an established UK customer base, football remains difficult to ignore. Premier League exposure still puts betting brands in front of huge domestic and international audiences, even when the company logo is no longer sitting across the middle of a shirt.
Some operators are also looking further down the football pyramid. Challenger bookmaker betTOM, for example, has recently added partnerships with Burnley and Stockport County alongside an existing agreement with Peterborough United.
For BetMGM, sticking with Newcastle offers continuity at a time when the rulebook around gambling advertising in football is changing. The shirt may be disappearing as prime betting real estate, but bookmakers clearly have no intention of leaving the stadium.
